Columbus School for Girls: The only all-girl, Pre K-12 学校 in central Ohio
In 1898, Mary Bole Scott 而且 Florence Kelley established Columbus School for Girls. Designed as a college preparatory educational program, the institution was created to replace the traditional “finishing 学校” young women often attended.
The 学校 was built at 662 E. 小镇圣., the first graduating class consisted of two girls, both of whom attended Wellesley College in the fall of 1899. As the years went by, the 学校 became one of the most rigorous 而且 progressive institutions in the Midwest. In 1927, it was incorporated as a nonprofit institution.
